Problem: water pump is extended out too far. I plan on converting interior to bucket fronts with a bench back instead of

but the water pump is 4" too far into seating area.
Current setup is BBC with 3 bolt(engine side) to 4 bolt (water pump side) 6"extension. I only ned a 2" extension but I can't locate one that isn't 4 bolts on both sides.

Anyone know of where I could locate one? Worst case I change the timing cover but I would prefer to avoid that if possible.
Thanks!
Justin

We should have 2", 3", and 4" billet extensions. The cast one you have appears to be at least 6". The problem may be the outer flange of the extension interfereing with the blower belt. Also you would likely have to re-drill and tap the old Weiand cover to the extension 4 bolt pattern (or drill the extension to match the old Weiand cover pattern).

I had the same problem, i ended up replacing the timing cover $200 getting the extension for the blower belt. However, you will run into another problem the intake is now right on your blower belt.
I fabricated a special intake extension that clears the blower belt and that solved that problem.
If you are interested i had two extensions made at the time (stainless steel) so i have another one on hand. Also the extention is also available.
I will post some pics today of the setup. I presently have the motor out of the boat and will be configuring an MPI system in place of the blown one.

PIcs of your setup would be great. Thanks! Any ideas/suggestions are appreciated prior to buying parts that won't work!

Krumb, it's nice to see an IO guy that knows what a real water pump is!
