...From a large mortgage company in OC. Looks bad; sounds like a large percentage of the employees were escorted to the door. Yikes!
Anyone looking for a Linux/Windows/network engineer?

I'm doing my best to follow in your footsteps Mike.... It's always been a dream of mine to be able to make a living in Havasu.

If you care to, PM the details. It sounds like most of the company was heavily affected.

Yeah the market is changing that is for sure. The Loan officer that got in the business 2-3 years ago that didn't need to know anything to fund a loan will get hit the hardest. Just becasue they are not used to the market when rates are higher.... My company has trimmed down alot.

Since I have to play nice and stuff to keep the paycheck coming for the next 2 months (read: severance package) I'll just agree and say that this guy is on to something.
Any other HB'ers affected?

I work for that company also in the Foreclosure Dept in the Rancho Cucamonga site and they called a meeting at exactly 10:30am today to anounce that all the branches were being closed down at that moment and the floor was silent, then they mentioned Corp and The Pond as well having layoff as well. It was deffinately a sad day at work today. I am very sorry to hear about that happening to a HB person.

I was deffinately a serious meeting and then at 11:00am there was another meeting with a recorded message from the CEO who apologized for the recorded message that this was the onky way that he could get the message out to all of us.
I know how it feels to be laid off. It happened to me once when i was working for GreenPoint Credit in the Corp office in San Diego, it was brutal the way they they did it.
One person in the meeting asked if there was going to be an opportunity for placement within the company for the laid off and was advised no positions were being offered. That hurts.

This one was about as pleasant as I have experienced. We were treated like professionals instead of being marched out by security guards; and we were taken care of. It's just life in this dynamic industry....

I've decided to be a bum LOL. Aside from boating all summer, I'm thinking I may go back to school and finish my bachelors since the Government's appearnetly willing to pay for it. Part of some re-training program having to do with our jobs being exported to Mexico. I guess I can't really complain. I hope the mexicans enjoy doing the set-up and maintence on those POS machines as much as I did.
...and I'm making the HB wife get a job. Tired of her lounging around naked in my mind all day, it's very distracting!. :D

Everything happens for a reason. I was laid off from Northrop Grumman in El Segundo back in Dec 2005 and within weeks was at Lockheed in Palmdale. I wouldnt have gotten this better and closer job had I not been laid off.

Let me guess...Plastics Business?
I am a general contractor now (past 5 years) after I lost my engineering job of 17 years to " we have to manufacture in CHINA". I have alot of shit to say about this but it just won't make any difference.
Stock market poised to make the all time high of 5 years ago. All this with oil hitting close to $75 a can. If there is a dot com bubble what is it?
Things will eventually spoil I am afraid.
