Okay, I'm looking at and working on the jet setup on my 18 Gullwing. I want to wedge the droop down some more. The wedge I'm currently running measures 0.631" thick on the top surface, 0.237" on the bottom surface, and approximately 8.117" overall OD.
My math indicates that this is a 3 degree wedge.
I thought that these things were commonly available in 2 degree increments. Was I right in this thinking, or are 3 degree wedges common?
What is the common consensus about adding more wedge? Should I get a 4 degree wedge, or get a 1 degree wedge and add wedges together for the desired angle? How much wedge is too much? I need to do a little more calculating to figure out how much more I can allow the tail of the droop to drop down before it intersects the ride plate angle.
Just thinking out loud a little, and open for input.
I also found that the back of the ride plate did have a little "hook" in it, as someone noticed in the pics I posted. That "hook" is gone now, so maybe I can get another mph or so from that benefit.
