well, by popular demand, here's the fireworks video of the 2nd dyno pull. it's likely that this has damaged the engine. if you listen you'll hear the severe detonation as the cable shorts out the ignition box. there was no detonation prior to that incident.

I saw what was hopefully ignition misfire.
I saw the engine nose over and the operator abort the pull.
If it was due to lean I would say it detonated.
If it was due to the cable - it just mis fired. It robbed the engine of enough spark. In that case it was the same as being rich. Will not damage the engine.
Detonation is explosion of the air fuel mixture rather than smooth burn. Robbing the ignition of power will not cause the mixture to explode rather than burn.
If it gave it a bunch of timing it would have possibly detonated if it was tuned right on the edge and built to only marginally take whatever octane you were using. I still think it just misfired.

My buddy learned a lesson about detonation. He had his timming at 37 degrees and the motor detonated and pushed the head gaskets out right in the area of the quench.
He noticed a high rpm miss then found a little milk shake and pulled the heads to find the gaskets smoked.

Really I do not think your engine detonated and would be suprised if anything was hurt other than the ignition.

I forgot to post where I got that from, it was a fallow up from the vid I posted yesterday from the moparts site. Some engine masters thing.
Hey info you ever heard of silent detonation, he said the motor was not rattling or making noise before it pushed the head gasket out.

Yes sometimes it only shows up as a loss of power. Other times it is very violent.
I used to teach detonation and pre-ignition FYI

Just part of the Aviation Mechanic training I taught for 7 years. Spartan School of Aeronautics and Tulsa Technology Center.
A lot of phyisics and operation theory is taught to aircraft folks..

Turbo chargers man !!
Those things make enough boost to blow the cylinders right off at sea level.
They compress high altitude air back to sea level density is their function.
