I just installed a droop and diverter. All it really did so far is make the bowl look like S****. So what paint will hold up? Over the winter I plan on rebuilding the pump and will send out for powder coat. What should I use in the meantime. It is stock white.
Any thoughts or help appreciated.
Thanks,
Gugs

I've seen the Rustoleum (Industrial) work great on pumps!!! It's in a bigger can and says INDUSTRIAL on it. It's held up to many trips and looks like the first day of painting.

I have had good luck with it. Bake it. I would estimate around 250 degrees for 10 minutes. Heating makes it rather plastic, upon cooling it gets very much tougher than it was.
The extensions on my headers are made from aluminum telescope tubing. I primed them with BBQ paint, baked that at 400F to 500F for 20 minutes and painted them with the EA. Heated with a heat gun. They smoked, got plastic and then got a very nice, hard polishable finish when cool. Easy to repair. Sand, spray, heat, polish if you want, you done.

GUGS102 I used automotive paint from space age paints here in Mesa. It was medium dollar stuff.
I painted the transom adapter & the pump. http://www2.***boat.com/image_center/data/500/841droop2.jpg
Nice & shinny. I haven't buffed it yet I don't think It needs it yet. I did apply a wax with UV blockers.
good luck.
Ever get out to Saguaro?
