They just announced it will have 500hp and 480tq. I am willing to bet that is underrated slightly. They do not want another 99 Cobra incident to EVER happen. Ford does it right AGAIN, that is a bang for the buck, I hear it will be less than $40k?

They are also coming out with a special run of Parnelli Jones Mustangs. They will have the DOHC 5.0 (cammer) motor with a shaker hood scoop! :) 370hp and 370tq.

You have to love that they are bringing back the Hertz edition Mustang.

I need to rent one and take it to Vegas. Here is a video of Carrol Shelby punishing one.

What will Ford do next? they keep getting better and better. :)

I almost bought a Hertz original in 1993 but opted for a GT 500, 427 sideoiler instead, Man do i wish i still owned that, it hauled ass  . Anyway these stangs are cool, especially the Hertz model :D NSF

I saw one on the way to work today. It had just got on the 40 from proving grounds rd and was cruising behind a masked superduty. Wish I had the camera with me.

Ford sucks. I hate them, they dragged me through a 2 year lemon law case only to settle with me at the 11th hour. They step all over people and don't sive a sh!t about the little people.
...But, I must admit, they have hit a homerun on the new mustangs. If I hadn't said (under oath) that I will never own another Ford again, I would be buying one of these for sure. They have totally won the "retro" wars with the Dodge's falling flat and the Camaro's not due until 08 or 09? (Good move, Chevy).
I love Mustangs but hate Ford.

Was by the "Factory" last week. Shelby had 5 car trailers being off loaded with mustangs and had a bunch lined up on the floor also. Looks like he will be busy for a while.

still dealers are selling them from 10,000-20,000 over retail. on ebay they are about 60k-70k to get one when they get the first shipment. after the hype is over hopefully they will come back down to earth and sell them around retail.
either way 40k for a 500hp car is a hell of a deal.
look at the z06, about 70k 505hp, but it's a corvette
for the 30k you save, thats a lot of money for mods
chevy is going to have to pull a rabbit out of a hat with the new camaro's

That is only right now, everything has a premium when it first comes out. These things will end up landing at $45k with the same HP as the vette. :D

too funny I saw one of the Hertz cars on the 405 N around Foutain Valley last week. I thought it was cool that someone took a new mustang and got a little retro on it. I did not think they Hertz would actually have the balls to really do it.
I'm impressed.

I called every dealer in Arizona and they all told me $20 to $35k over sticker is what they're getting. They said they had 20-60 people on the waiting list for 4-7 cars :220v:
I have a friend that owns a Ford dealer in the MidWest and I'm getting a convertible from him. I'm due for delivery in July, triple black :crossx:
