502 Bow Tie Qusetion???

I found a (Bow Tie) 502 short block, stock bore for $1,850.00 about 30 hrs. on the motor...it had a closed cooling system (no rust), the block and crank are guaranted. Pistons are junk, rod condition who knows. Any thoughts about that price???

I've got one. I think that asking price is a little strong. A new Dart block is not much more than that

Yea I kmow all about that Dart Block...nice piece..$2,200.00 I think? Thanks for the reply's, and I'll take your advice.
One more thing...I saw my 1's pair of AFR heads $3500.00 WOW...nice looking though.

A year ago I bought a complete 502 Bowtie motor with all the important (read: expensive) Mercruiser accys for $1350.00 which was a good deal.
Flatlander Racing (http://www.flatlanderracing.com/index.html) has a GEN VI block, essentially the same as the Bowtie, for $1510.00 new.
