Depth Sounder

Ive got the Hummingbird hdr 600 depth gauge in dash. Lately its been getting erratic to the point of reading 1.4-1.7 ft all the time. Anyone have experience with this? Possibly know of an easy fix? (besides replacement) Could it be unit or transducer (transducer is puck mount type) Its around 3 yrs old. thanks for any input :cry:

Does the display flash?
If so, check to make sure the puck is still glued solidly to the bottom of the hull?
My depth finder will read incorrectly anytime there is areated(sp) water under the transducer, usually when I'm in reverse.
