i have been having problems with water getting into the oil. and i have been thinking that i froget to turn off my gate valve too late and too much pressure into the system. as i have no water pressure gaugr to tell me. today i took out my Basset T valve and noticed that it has no spring in it and there are chips in the ball bearing. i hope this is my problem. but plan to put a 15 pound pressure relief valve on the system to help. is there a rebuilt kit for the Basset T. or does anyone know how to rebuild it from hardware parts or do i have to wait for my boat shop to order it. i was looking at another thread about header plumbing and the schematic showed two gate valves in the begining. what is there purpose?

Should be only one gate valve and one pressure relief valve. Call Bassett and order the spring and ball directly. Budlight

i just seen that rex marine has the spring and ball for under $4 each. so should i run a pressure relief and the Basset T?

Yes. The pressure relief valve helps to keep to much pressure from opening Bassett valve too soon.

thanks i will get on that. its gets to be a pain and a little expensive changing 16 quarts of oil and 2 filters each time that happens.
