I have the opportunity to buy a 69 Merc Marquis, with a 429. 9Z66K505601. What hp is this? Does it have the right heads? Thanks.

Its a good one,if you need a ford I have a completely new 460 that I built and couldnt smog the truck I am gonna let it go cheap it has all the good stuff let me know if your interested

Assuming nothing has been changed the engine is a high compresson [pre-smog] engine with the old gross HP rating of 360. The heads are 75cc closed chamber and a 11 to 1 c/r. The block should be a C8VE and a good block to start with. If the price is right buy it.

Thanks. Looks like the "K" means a 2bbl carb., 320 hp, and 10.5-1 comp. The 460 had 11-1. I don't know why there would be a difference in comp.

I dont think ford made an 11 to 1 460 stock, 10.5 to 1 in the lincolns. I could be way wrong thou.
