Pulled the pan off the motor and I noticed the rods have a little dot on them. Can anyone tell me what kind of rod this is.

If they look stock they are GM dimple rods.

They are a stock looking steel rod. Are they good rods?

They are the best stock rod you can get.
Some old school guys swear by them.
Make sure they have good bolts.

Bolts are most important. 7/16 or 3/8 bolts?

Someone poilshed the beams, that is good.
I tried to sell a set a while back. No luck. Had to trade them to an old school guy that thinks they are gold.

OK, OK, ya got me !!! There are many good deals on aftermarket, ready to run Rods out there. The last set of Chevey, 7/16" bolt New-in-the-Box dimpled rods I bought went for $400 at the swap meet. They are very good rods, keep them.

Here's a different photo, do these look like 3/8 or 7/16 ? I'm too lazy to go look for myself.

I've got a set of 7/16" dimple rods sitting out in my garage. They just need to be checked out and possibly resized. :D

Let me get the pistons off them. They have a set of .60 over TRW flat top blower pistons on them. Big heavy slugs. I'll get them off and get some pictures for you.

I finally went out to the garage and measured the studs on the rods and they are 7/16. Shiada 96 is going to make our oil pan look new again for us.
