Cool thanks Fiat, looks like you have the funny car style chassis. I stumbled on the pic of the one I posted and talked to the guy who helped build it last night and thinking I might go that way. Looking to build a looooooooooow buck car just to drag race.

What exactly is it you want to do? The car in the picture is capable of about 150 mph with that chassis. That chassis not for blown. Up to 150 mph and mid 8's you can do most anything. After that it starts getting more critical.
Chassis have to be certified and NHRA is always coming up with a new bar they want welded in. Think about what it is you really want to do..how fast and quick you want to run. Just like boats...you can pour lots of money in them but it does not always fix them.
I started with this car. Total bad car after much work I did get it to stay on the track at 150. It was 468 tunnel ram and aclohol carbs.

I sold that car (once it was working)back to it's original owner and then bought a proven 8 second car. Started out injected alcohol and wound up blown alcohol. Still the best car I ever had.

Although I run 7.0's in this car it was not a legal chassis for advanced et. So then came the Fiat which was a fuel altered chassis. Not a better car than the roadster but it met the specs NHRA wanted.
The Fiat body is not made anymore. The mold was owned by Fiberglass trends and was destroyed many years ago. The roadster body I had for the Fiat was out of Denver Colorado...not sure who made it. It was the only body I could find deep enough to cover the Fiat's chassis.

I want to run low 10's or high 9's with it. I was thinking small block with a glide and either injected or alky carb. 10.5 inch wide or 12 tire. What do you think?

Fiat48

Small block and a glide will do it. But buy enough chassis so when you get bored (and you will) you can step up.
Buy 120 to 125 inches of wheelbase.
Old funny car chassis is just fine.
Name tag. No homemade unknown shit. No "Mark Williams" chassis.
Either 9 inch ford rear end or 8 3/4 Chrysler 742.
BE SURE THE CAR FITS YOU.
Certified to 7.50 seconds. MUST HAVE CURRENT TAG.
No suspension in rear. Solid rear mount only. Prefer front be that way too but not as important.

Why not a mark williams?

Fiat48

Mark Williams actually made a welded chassis a very long time ago. But has sold kits the last 20 years. Most guys that put those together did not have any jig fixture or chassis building experience. They can be crooked or braced wrong or might not even be from Mark Williams. So most chassis for sale home made are called "Mark Williams" chassis.
Get a brand name by a known chassis builder. Easier for NHRA, better resale. S&W, Neil and Parks, etc.

Yes..I have a Mike's powerglide. Ultimate glide setup with addtional welding. That went with the car but I still have a spare. For sale if someone needs it. And I ran the red & white altered in N/E for quite a few years. Won a lot with it.

It's standard length. Has the good input shaft, 6 clutches, Hipster 4/10's trans brake, shield, the whole works. $1000
