I don't know about anyone else but,To me the prices of these deck boats are getting way out of control. How much does it really cost to build one?
30' Magic = $182.000 :2purples:  As tested $193,486
28' Cobra = $99.000  :2purples: As tested $132,490
Can someone explain how 1 extra engine and drive,2 feet of boat, alittle ulpholstery, and a couple of cup holders can justify over 80K?
A few of the deck boats tested were pushing $150k-$200k. WTF,am i missing something?
The Lavey as tested = $186,768
I just don't understand it.

Yeah and with an 800 the Lavey only ran above 81 while the Hallett with the same engine ran just under 100....seems like Hallett got it right with their new deck...
Also, so much for Hallett's being more expensive...same Lavey 186K, Hallett 136K....Ok the Lavey has a 12K upgraded trailer (what trailer costs 12K more as an upgrade???? did they have it on a jet ski trailer to begin with), and a 20K system upgrade (unless it is 15,000 watts RMS...I think that upgrade price is a flatout joke)....so again, so much for Hallett's being overpriced and expensive....Hmmmmmmm
If you say these prices are just for magazine's; that applies to both manufactures...

DCB is looking more affordable to me all the time.
Who was it that was saying they're over priced or more than everyone else.
Seems to me $$ for $$ DCB is looking like the best deal.

Heck a Trident with a Twin Turbo Motor and Everything is around 160K.

There all more than I paid for my house, of course that was eleven years ago. I personally don't see how anyone can spend that kinda dough on a toy...

Or go nuts with an E-Ticket and twin 525s for about the same price.
That's not a bad thought, but I was unimpressed with the #'s the Eticket put up with 496's....again magazine #'s, but not too impressive.

But if you buy a 28' Magic Deck you can drive the same boat as most everyone on Havasu.

That things a sled, for sure, but it sure is nice. Like a big Cadillac. :D
I saw your boat last weekend go by our docks; it looked like a pretty nice, seemed to ride pretty well for 35-45 you were doing, looked like a Cadillac as well and has twins and I am sure it was a lot less then the E-Ticket...

You guys are up by the dam, right? Are you in Dam Hideaway? I'm selling my boat to a guy in DH this weekend, knock on wood.
I'll be honest, my experience in non-jets over 21' is pretty limited, but, so far, I'm really happy with the boat.
Just north of there....There is Dam Hideaway; then another Trailer park with launch ramp, then open land where they are building an 8500sqft home, then another trailer park with apartments in front (Lonesome cove), then our street/dock/lauch ramp and houses...Polynesian Shores II...two covered anwning areas flank the launch ramp...then docks on each side of launch ramp...

why did Hot Boat put those skanky looking chicks on the v drives???
Flat Stupid's Miller is one of the coolest boats ever. To bad it's got skank deck now!
Same with Buckles Barron, brand new deal custom done by Prime Marine. No expense spared. Then it looks like Hot Boat must have stopped by the Red Dog to get a chick for the photo shoot. Those boats would have looked better if they would have just shot the boat without the chicks on them!
I have to say the models on the deck boats looked good!
I don't get it. The production (opps, I mean custom gelcoat) deck boats get the good models and they use some rag dolls for the real customs.

From what I remember they had one of the hotter models on one of the customs in the back of the magazine...that brunette with the smokin' bod....she looks dirty in a good way...@ :)

I just got my issue today and I'm with you on the prices. Prices to me are just way too friggin high. If I'm gonna spend $150-200K on a boat, it better be big enough and able to run out in the big blue. I'm just amazed that there is that many people out there willing to drop that kind of dough on a deck boat to just cruise the lake or the river. :jawdrop:

Seems as though the prices are trying to keep up with housing huh? And BTW, do you think the Lavey owner likes YELLOW, he better  NSF
