Memorial day weekend I picked up an enclosed trailer. I would have bought a new one but my driveway only allows 96" wide and not 102. In fact I actually narrowed this trailers wheelbase by fender rework and different wheel offset. At this point it is nearly functional for the boat. Eventually there will be a small living quarters in the front. Here's some before and afters.
Everybody is always after me to get before and after pics. This time I did it.

Love to see anyones ideas on living quarters. It's been a tremendous amount of work to get this puppy functional. Wife is excited as soon we will be able to stay overnight at the lake and some CFW trips in the future.

26 ft inside. I tow with a 99 Powerstroke Dually.
But I move the trailer around the back shop area with my little toyota pickup. LOL. Talk about power steering!

I have never met anyone that works harder than Bob and it shows in every project he has ever taken on.

Yeah that little winch from Harbor freight. $50 deal seemed to pull the boat in there with no problem.

A funny thing happened yesterday on this deal. Funny now but not so funny when it happened. You see that "axle strap" in the last picture that the winch cable hooks to on the trailer? Nice big wide strap. I was gonna weld a loop on the front crossmember for the winch to hook to...but I had this nice big strap and didn't want to mess up my dolly trailer paint job.
Well....the strap broke (where it was sewn) as I was just starting to unload the boat from the trailer! And away the boat went with me hanging on to the bow trying to hold her back! Must been a funny sight..I ain't letting go and my knees are smokin down the carpet as she heads out the door.
I was a little beat up but I got the boat stopped before she went through the shop wall.
And then I got my welder out....to Hell with messing up the paint job. LOL.
