Here are just a few of the pics
We're driving back thru one of the fingers of the lake to get back to some really nice coves.
http://www2.***boat.com/image_center/data/500/85drvin_to_the_cove-med.jpg and yes the driver does need to get on a diet.
When we got halfway back to the spot we wanted to be we found this log jam
http://www2.***boat.com/image_center/data/500/85logjam.jpg
This is when we got as far back as we could.
and here is where we just hung out for alooooong time, beautiful and peaceful too. Thanks all for letting me share hope it didn't bore any of ya.

Well we paddled our way thru it and it was well worth the effort, you gotta have some adventure every once in awhile
You get to see views like this

Still idling back, you wouldn't believe the silence, well except for the engine noise, so beautiful back there.

we kept on going around the bend you see there.
http://www2.***boat.com/image_center/data/500/85cove.JPG
till we finally couldn't go any further, you would not believe how clear the water was http://www2.***boat.com/image_center/data/500/85cove.JPG
this is where we finally had to end out trip up the cove.

It was just a great time the kids, the big kids and the little ones had a great time, i have to send out a Huge THANKS to my Buddy HD for taking and sending the pics to me to share with all of ya, he lurks here and i keep trying to get him to join so maybe with a little push from the HB crowd we'll get him on here, he's out in the Castaic area so maybe he could get together with some of you peeps out there.

When we have great trips and are able to take a bunch of pics i love to share, great trip, only problem we had was with the reservation system that was available on the Millerton Lake website, i reserved and paid for a full hook up site, was charged for the full hook ups, we get to the lake and pull into what was supposed to be our spot, only to be told by the camp host that we are in the wrong spot and that we are in a "Developed" spot, well there is a huge difference from Full Hook up, meaning Electricity, water, no sewer yet but thats coming, to "Developed which is just a water hook up, both spots have a shelter, firepit and a bench, but the electricity allows you to run the A/C without having to run the genny all the time, genny hrs there are from 10am yes 10am to 8 pm, so if you plan on reserving a spot within the California State parks system CALL them not the online reservation system, the worst part of my dilemma is that the guys i reserved my spot with are CANADIANS, if only i had known!!!! :D Friggin Frogs!!! J/K Hooli, FM and the rest of you including Tom Brown!!!

When I was a teenager 30 years ago we took a conoe trip up river past the Log-Jam, all the way up to the where the white water started.
It's a good thing I did it back then, I would be so sore the next day, they would have to med-vac me out now!

Looked like a great time. Last time I was at Millerton, I was real young. I don'e remember much about it. Does it have gas on the lake? How are the campsites? Are they on the water? How big is the lake?

Some things have changed, yes there's gas at the Marina @ 3.59 a Gallon, but hey it's there if ya need it, the lake is completly full, to the dams top, with a little spilling over, the camp sites have gotten better there are more full hookups, no sewer hookups yet but there is water at all "developed" site, there's a big difference as i found out the hard way.
Make sure if you need or want the full hook up CALL the LAKE office, DO NOT use the WEBSITE Reservation system, i did and got royally screwed, had pulled into the full hook up spot i reserved online as was told that is was the wrong site and that it was the websites fault and the lake had absolutely nothing to do with it. Now i have to argue with the website, but thats my deal.
Anyway the lake is huge lots of spots to explore no real speed limit during the weekdays but that changes for the weekend as you can understand, inflatebles are allowed as are dogs and pets, all the sites have Tables a shelter and a shelved storage spot with doors you can loack up so the squirrels don't get to your stuff. Yes there campsites on the water, and be careful when anchoring, the water level will drop anywhere from 3 -6 ft a night.
Prolly more info than you needed but i am still stoked on our trip and am already planning a return trip for this October, maybe we can get some HB Peeps to join up and come with.
