I lived on that rock for 3 years. First year was great. Did all the touristy things. Second year was a blast. Went to the outer islands, saw the off-the beaten-path parts of it.
Third year, all I wanted to do was go 50 miles in one direction and not run into ocean.

I have family live on Maui and Kaui and love it. They have been there now for 30 years and really like the feeling of the islands. They come to mainland and can not take it to long before they want to go home. I guess home is what you make it.
