I did a search on "yellow and black spider" -
I'm going to guess that it's a banded argiope, but that's strictly a guess...

Plain ol' garden spider, I believe. Only thing it will hurt is flys, mosquitoes, bugs and other things you don't want more than a spider!
But...I HATE spiders so I'd kill the sucka...

That is a "yellow and black ass biter". I'd move it outside asap so it can bite someone else's ass. :)

Yep. Harmless garden spider...unless you are a fly.

Wish we had more of them here .... they kill wasps (no shortage of THOSE). Guess all the mud daubers I DO have here keep them down. I see a big web occasionally in the trees W of my house, between a couple pines. Web support lines may span a space 5' wide with the web itself about 2'.
They are quite harmless to people (except for Super-Fly). :eat:

Yup, it's a garden spider. They do weave long suspension webs. I find it amusing to watch them swing the entire web once it has been lightly touched. We get huge ones in the shrubs outside out office building. I sometimes pick them up to let them crawl on my hand to freak peeps out... Funny :D

I think it's like looking at clouds - everyone sees something different. The black part in the middle kind of looks like a squid to me. :D

Oh yeah you know what I'm talking about.. Go 4 wheeler riding and before you know it you have about 50 of them and their webs all over you.. It's used to be fun to shoot em but after a while you'd find out that you'd run out of bullets trying to get every single one..
