I have a BBC 468ci. two bolt main with a steel crank, GM rods 7/16 bolts, JE hipertectic pistons, and real nice valve train in my jetboat and I was wondering if a blower would be too much for it. I was thinking of maybe a 8-71 wiend. I hear you can run a blower on a stock engine as long as you stay in the lower boost ranges. What do you guys think.

It will stay together as long as you don't get crazy with it----several set ups like that around here---depending on what the compression is now, you may not be able to run much boost----just make sure to limit your timing to a max of 34 deg, run good fuel, and don't run it lean

I bolted a blower on top of a 18 year old stock cast/cast 2 bolt 454. It lasted 1 1/2 seasons, until #5 piston melted down, #5 rod bent and #5 cylinder got ventilated in several places. Mine blew after a prolonged high rpm run with a wot shot at the end. It was still running after the initial blast, but it was a little rough :jawdrop: ! So you see, it can be done..at a price.
With those KB pistons, I'd be real careful playing under boost. I've never heard anything good about them, blown or not.
