Hi, I just bought an Eliminator 19ft Daytona jet project boat and I'm about ready to do the exhaust system. I have OTs with it, but my local lake requires through hull, so I'm looking at jacketted headers that can be plumbed through hull, but have not decided on anything yet.
Pics of what your using and some details would be very helpful.
I ran logs on my last picklefork, but I want headers, IMCO powerflows or something like that on this one. The engine is a 496(stroked 454) with BM 250 blower.
Thanks, Scott
Here is a picture of the logs on my other boat to start the thread off.

Sorry I don't have any pictures to post(computer idiot) but I run Lightnings polished water jacketed through hull headers on mine and I really like them. I don't even miss over the transom headers any more....well, maybe sometimes!

Do the jacketed headers got hot like OT'sor as cool to the touch as logs?

My logs are certainly not cool to the touch, but they are forgiving if you touch them. My winter project III involves a set of Lightnings.

My lightinings run cooler than the Harmon logs & previously run.....While the engine is runnin you can actually grab the header tube for a short time, without burnin & searin.

If I recall right ... mine are Niccson logs. I'll be really happy to see lightnings on my Taylor, and nobody will know. BWHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAA I love having a sleeper arround all the Bajas and bassers here in the midwest. :D :D
Those Tri-Y's are pretty cool looking. Wonder why you never see that design style elsewhere. Everyone just does 4 tubes to a single collector.

Never been stopped and checked. Dont even run mufflers in 4" Rex Marine SS tips. Quiet at idle, but you sure can hear it in the valley as it planes out. Even had a few people ask me what "those" were.

Bassett Racing.
If your running BBC, they should be on the shelf. Call Paul @ Bassett, he is a great person to talk to and he will take time to answer any questions you may have. Mine are for an Olds, took him about 12wks to make. Here is a link to his page on WJH's. Custom made headers run about $3G. Headers are good under engine cover. I can touch them while running and still keep my skin. Best part is they are SS, any discoloration can be polished out. They also have a reversion cone built inside to prevent water crawling back up the exhaust. Also p/u about 350 rpm just puttin em on.
