My engine is now a stripped tanked block at the machine shop. Upgrading from 350 to 383 with IMCO thumper exhaust.
I've just OK'd a set of Edelbrock aluminum heads, and I'm wondering who's using them and what your impressions are?
The boat's a 19' Glastron bowrider. It should be a bit of a sleeper....

My 383 has the Performer RPM heads. I think they worked really well with my combo. The 170CC intake runners are all I needed, as I'm not spinning the motor over 5,200 RPMs.
I spent a little extra on porting and bowl-blending.

I used a pair of straight plug Performer RPM Heads on my 406 SBC. It made 635 ft lbs of torque and 575 HP with a B&M 250 blower, 1 carb and hydraulic cam. This was through stainless marine manifolds. I did use head studs with them.

have you thought about the darts my brother has them on a sbc350 that is pushing 450hp they are the steel ones.(220 sportsmans)
i myself would avoid the alm ones for boat use or an everyday driver.reasons for me can warp if you for some reason overheat them and steel can hold more heat in the combustion chamber(boats do run cooler)
If it were an all out race car, boat i'd go alm for the weight savings.
