I finally got the new freeze plugs in and the carb rebuilt, but I still need to find a steering cable. The broken one that's on the boat now looks like the original but I haven't had any luck finding a replacement. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

It's almost cheaper to replace the whole system than just the cable.
Call Mike(rexone) at Rex Marine. He'll take care of you.

question guys- what length cables are you using for an 18 foot boat? I was an idiot and threw my old one away before measuring it...

You really need to do the measuring that most systems suggest. As an example, my 19.5' Eliminator uses a SHORTER cable than my 17'-10" Tahiti did. Its all about the placement of the helm relative to the transom.

i've used four of the hardin marine rack systems from c performance. the quality has been great, and the prices are the best i've found.... but, the e-bay deal sounds a bit cheaper. i have been using hardin cables on a bunch of boats for the past few years, and have been very hapy w/ quality and price. i just stretched a rope from where the cable would start to where it attaches to the pump . in my 19 foot swtd , the cable was 15.6" so i ordered a 16 foot cable.hope this helps! :skull:

curious to see how the cable is routed in the back. I remember mine ran along the gunnels, up underneath the rear deck/transom area, then out from underneath to make the turn out through the transom to the pump. Is that how they are all done? Seems like maybe running it down underneath the floor, through the bilge/under the motor and up past the pump out the transom would look a little cleaner maybe?

mine runs along the side gunnel and under the back transom then out the back,so,that is how i ran the rope i used to measure the length of cable with.under the dash, my cable exits toward the side gunnel,so that is the most natural way to run it, also cable is out of sight for that clean look. :eat:
