If used on a flat they will make the flat blow the tail. J/k.
What size tubes on the headers?

No, but the exhaust will turn into thrust & make you go faster :)
The tubes are 2 1/2 OD
Thanks, Mike

I think the Bassets are a tighter radius. See if this pic helps and I can measure how far they stick out from the motor if that helps.

Thanks for the reply---beautiful piece you have there Fiat. I believe Bassetts were on the boat before I bought it and still cinged the gunnels. May be the type of paint. I may be focked. Bassett said they would send me the pieces and I could TIG it.....but too many things to do---Thanks ...Steve

Please correct me if Im wrong. I was told tha running this type of header is only good if you have a blown motor , they will actually cause less horse power for a carburated motor. Such as 454 w/duel 660's center squirters on a tunnel ram.

Real debatable subject. The theory is yes..blown motor only. But I did a lot of playing with unblown injectors and zoomies and found no difference in speeds or ET's from any header combination I ran. And I ran a bunch of them. So since the zoomies made it easier to work on and we could get finger burns instead of arm burns we left em on.
Tunnel ram and carb wise...the word is no zoomies...they cause a loss. It's all about tuned lengths and scavaging and most guys don't get that far into it anyway.
I just bought these to try to get them on my flat if they are not laid back too much. We'll find out.

hey fiat, that plumbing is probably gonna be too far down in the gunnels for a flatty, they sit WAY low in scottys kurtis, and aim really straight back, gotta be careful of runnin a t-tank ,they point right at it!!!!!!!

I figured they might be too low. But there's a couple hydro guys here that will probably want them if they don't work. I run a tall deck and raised exhaust ports...maybe that will save me. LOL>

Well, like I said it would be close. Maybe too close. Maybe they are better for Justin's hydro. Just think of the thrust these have! LOL.

Bob: Those look badass on your flat....Are they gonna work?
Are you still lookin for a set of Zoomies? I have a set I wasnt going to sell but you could use them if you wanted.

I think they will work if the boat don't catch on fire. Not sure yet....might get the gunners too hot.

Sorry but those are not the NGR style! They don't have the low pressure wing on top of the tubes.

I was told that too. At Bakersfield in March, I my first qualifing run I ran a 10.22/103. For the hell of it, I bolted the zoomies on for the 2nd run...10.24/103. At least with my BBC there's no difference.

I used a set of 2&1/4" swept back Rewarders on a comp hydro that were better than 2&1/2" zoomies, Step collectors and short stacks. The hydro loads the motor different than a flat so it probably won't translate exactly the same way.
