I'm going to be taking a road trip this weekend to Tucumcari from Tucson to pick up a motorhome.
Just curious how the road is between Alamagordo and Santa Rosa (Hwy 54 I believe??). It's about a 100 miles shorter than going all the way through ABQ on the interstate.

It's a good road, and that's the way I would go. I went to Alamagordo to pick up my boat and I drove 54 from Tucumcari to Alamagordo. If you are going to be traveling at night watch out for coyotes. Also, be sure to stop on 54 just a few miles before you get into Alamagordo at one of the Pistacchio farms and pick up some fresh ones if you like them. They have some of the best!
