I have been having a slight crankcase pressure issue so I decided to check my valve cover breathers. I have the kind of breathers that have stainless hoses that come off the breathers and dump into the headers. There is a little one-way valve which prevents back pressure from going back into the valve covers from the exhaust pressure.
Well, I found out one of the valves is bad. Where can I get a new one? Who sells them?

Jordy :D Yeah, I am so stoked though. I am really going through this thing and finding all the tiny little things that robbed me of horsepower. Shoot, once I get her running perfect, it will feel like I installed nitrous oxide or something.....

It will feel like you installed it so you wont have to and your motor will last, and you wont have pistons with holes burned in them and on and on and on...

Moroso check valve- $18.99Cool! Just ordered them! How about the gasket that goes between the valve cover and the breather riser? Does summit sell those or is that a marine part?

The kit (http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?part=9253) is available for $59.95...it's cheaper to buy the individual parts...

Are those little braided lines big enough for your motor to breath??? We use 1"i.d. clear plastic hose.. Better pressure flow & you can see if your blowing oil....jest my 2 cents... :D :D :D
Dan Olson makes the best breathers around <a href="http://www.olsonmotorsports.com/mainpage/index.html" target="_blank">

I would think -8 would be enough. Good idea with the clear hose though.
You can go to Kragen and buy cork or rubber gasket material sheets. Make your own. That's what I did on mine.
Squirts up!

Ok. One more question. The alluminum risers that come off the valve covers have some sponge material in them. I lost one of the sponges after cleaning them and am thinking about just screwing the risers back onto the valve covers without the sponge inserts. One would think that this would let it breath a little more freely. Would it puke exess oil without the sponge?
Opinions?

I get less puke when my sponges are clean. Buy some sponge material from a LawnBoy dealer. They use the same type of stuff in their air intake case.
Good Luck,
Randy

Hi 78,
No I have not, I have an enclosed engine bay and it might get to be pretty messing over a long weekend. I dont get alot of mist but I can tell I get some. Most of mine gets sucked back into the flame arrestor screen. It builds up on that. I just flush the sponges out when I check my valve lash. It helps keep the oil to a minimum.
