David Lee Roth to Replace Howard Stern?
July 26th, 2005
During Howard Stern's recent two week vacation, news broke that David Lee Roth was set to replace him when he makes the jump from tradition radio over to SIRIUS Satellite Radio.
When asked to comment on the Roth rumor, Infinity spokeswoman Karen Mateo said: "We are looking at a number of personalities to replace Howard Stern, however there are no imminent announcements at this time."
On Monday July 18th, the first day back from vacation for Stern, the broadcast window normally reserved for The Howard Stern Show had been replaced with the Diamond David Lee Roth Show. An hour later, the joke was revealed. Comedian Billy Mira doing a David Lee Roth impersonation "took control" and even took an on-air call from Howard himself, disgruntled from being dumped while on vacation.
Later in the broadcast, Howard stated that he knew who will replace him when he leaves for SIRIUS. He stated he has inside information that Roth will actually be replacing him in New York City, and he also added that Loveline co-host Adam Corolla will be taking over at some of The Stern Show's west coast affiliates, including KLSX/Los Angeles.

Totally agree. :coffeycup
I agree also, a 1/4 billion dollar package in un-recoupable on a no commercial system. If I'm wrong oh well, I think Howard is a really shrewd businessman who saw a good exit strategy.
