I was wondering if any1 know a better way to get off old undercoating other then grind it???? the stringers on my boat have that nasty spray-on rubber like under coat. Since I will be painting the entire boat this month i wanted to remove it so that i could gel coat the stringers/bilge area. My prob is that even 36 grit pads on the grinder fill up in about 30 secs, glazing them over completly. I think aircraft stripper might get it off I am just worried about what in might do to the fiberglass. Thanks for the help =)

Use the Aircraft paint stripper made for fiberglass.

be careful with stripper.. fiberglass doesn't like most of that stuff.
Check out eastwood they have a chemical to remove undercoating.. ask them about compatiability with fiberglass
