HELL YES PUNISH THE A.S.S.HOLES THAT COST US BIG GREENBACKS
If police find you driving without insurance, they now are required to impound your vehicle and assess a fine of $923 for the first offense.
Andress said a court can reduce that fine to $300 if the person charged can show proof of a six-month in
surance policy within 30 days.

Either the newspaper or Andress got it wrong.
We can only seize an un-insured vehicle if it's involved in an accident. Not just if we find it driving.

Cali won't do it... someone will scream racial profiling or some B.S. like that. :(

over the years i have been hit twice by an uninsured driver, so i don't have a problem with it. :) i wish they would impound the car!

is this a new law-? is this in Calif-? because I know 2 people who were both
hit by unisured, and in both cases the PD let the unisured leave the scene
after getting some info..... they drove their unisured cars away...........

Me too. One guy was an illegal without a driver's license and the cops gave him a ticket and let him go on his merry way. Told me to have my insurance take care of it. :hammer2: :angry2:
