Anyone have any information on Lake Almanor? we are renting a lake house for a week with family. Places to go? Do they have high octane on the lake? Best way to tow heading HWY 5 North. Yada yada yada...

here's an idea.......
quit spending so much focken money and have everyone at the Clear Lake house that you already rented for the summer. :hammerhea Geeeez.....friggin pimp. :D :D
all kidding aside, I've heard great things about Almanor. Highly doubt there is high octane up there for you...tow up with a full load of your choice of fuel that I beleive you can get in Red Bluff beore you head up toward the hills. My partner said that Lassen Volcanic National Park is pretty cool to go check out while you're there. It's about 30 minutes from Almanor. As well, Bailey Creek Golf Course is said to be very nice up there if you want to get a round in.
As far as getting there towing a rig of your size......head up I-5 into Red Bluff and take HWY36 toward Almanor. That's the most "trucking-friendly" route. You could go HWY32 or HWY70, but they're pretty treacherous with your big boat and truck....I'd stick with HWY36 out of Red Bluff....which turns into HWY89. It'll take you a bit longer, but it's certainly safer.

hwy 32 and hwy 70 are both safe.... my dad drove tankers up both routes
for years....... we usually go up 70 because the feather river canyon is so
pretty. this is even coming from Chico which you could also take hwy32
just as well...

I'm surprised to hear that they even have 91 up there. Naci & Don Pedro only have 89 on the water?
And.....4 frickin 30 a gallon???? That's just stupid.

We are heading up tomorrow morning for a week. It is on the Peninsula, wherever that is.
