Thanks for the feedback; seems like I went through 20 plus gallons of fuel within three hours at an average of 2000-3500rpm with a few short bursts of 6000+rpm.

Only 20 gallons?

yeah no shiit...I'm jealous. I can go though 20 gallons in 20 minutes if I really try. When I try to conserve and cruise at 3500 rpm or so as you did, 20 gallons will last me about an hour as I discovered during CBBB on Sunday, trying to launch from Needles and make it to the Gorge...
And I'm building a bigger shortblock with 100+ more cubes and about 1700 cfm of carbs...what the hell am I thinking???

Only 20 gallons?
After draining both fuel tanks, I recovered less then 3 gallons considering I began with 23.

Mares, we met at CBBB. Black & gold picklefork. I was saying that 20 gallons of fuel used by the amount of running you described didn't sound too far off. Your motor doesn't look like a miser by a long shot. My motor is NA with a single carb and that bitch is thirsty. I can see the guage on an 11 gallon tank move running 3500-4000 rpm's. At 6000, I can only imagine. By the way, bitchen boat.

oh yeah I remember your boat vividly. I'm simply trying to figure a baseline on how far down river I could actually go before I would be pressing my luck. I'm planning on running the boat from echo lodge to blue water, which I figure is ten miles or so. By the way cool ride as well.

My boat gets incredible economy. I've only used 20 gallons in a day once, and I was going deaf by the end of the day.Im looking into some ear plugs. :D
I can do the BR loop...From the RV park to lost lake back to the cove up by Parker dam, back to BR, lay down about 10 passes and put it away with an easy 6 gallons left, probably more.I hold 20 gallons total.Keep in mind I cruise at about 2600-2900 RPM
I also noticed I get wayyy better economy than my dads Southwind tunnel does, hes got about 600 hp (468 w/2 660 holleys) which was really surprising, Im thinking good jetting has something to do with it, his deal is a little fat.

If i just putt around at like 2,500 rpm then i can go pretty far on 20 gallons. I usually only put 17-18 in the tanks a and I can make the loop from BR to lost lake and back up to the dam with a few gallons to spare with a few wide open passes in between. I ran from park moabi through the gorge and back last weekend and only burned 9 gallons.

I made the same run on Tues. from Park Moabi to the sandbar & burned 11 gallons, I turn 3100 Rpm & I know I jetted fat. I normally carry 36 gallons.... Plenty of gas even though I still needed gas for Wednesday's run (See Lewis & Clark expedition thread)

To set the scene ... I have a 3 gallon tank ...
I fire my boat ... make a pass ... and 6.6 to 7.1 seconds later ... I'm out of fuel ...
Fun ... but I'll never be able to hang with you guys ...
Sucks, huh?
