I just got a call from the guy I bought the B-Wannabe from. I don't remember if I told you but he had a wood sanger flatty in his shop. This boat needs work but it is in amazing condition. The tandem trailer is great. it even has the original torque thrust wheels on it. It has most of the gear with it. Hallcraft paralel box. It has adjustable plate hardware. It needs some wood and glasswork on the outside. The inside wood is in great shape. It even has the original upholstery and seats. I would say the year is either 63 or 64, I'm not sure. I am going there tomorrow to take pics and I will email to SSMike and he can put them up. He is talking 1800.00 for the whole thing. No motor. If you have interest call me at 208.375.6328 or my cell 208.863.2975. He wanted me to write a check and haul it out of there but I think I want to blow my wad on a Needles mount.

Doss, I already had a guy call that lives in Boise and he is going in the morning to look. If you are serious I will go in the morning and put a deposit on it and wait till you see pics. If you give me your email I will mail them to you direct...I would love to see somebody get it that has the money and desire. This boat is a year or two from being garbage if somebody bought it and left it outside...It has been inside all of its life.

I sent all the pics to SSMike. The boat probably has seen some outside time at some point in her life. It would be a great start for someone. When the pics get up if you have any questions fire away.

These are the pictures of the early wood Sanger. This boat and the equipment is for sale for 1800.00. It had a big block chevy in it. It is located in Boise, ID. I would be willing to help get it somewhere.

OK here it is...the straight scoop, no bullshi...OK you get the picture. This boat is from the same guy that I bought my B boat from. He was hurting for money and I tried to sell this woody for him. Nobody bit on it. So he tears up and tells me this sob story about how he needs money and he needs the room in his shop for some money making projects. Ok, Ok already. I feel bad and I really like this guy and he did me a big favor on the B boat...Long and short of it, I write him a check for 1200.00. Now I own it and it's at my house instead of his. This boat can be somebody's dream. 63 or 64 Sanger woody. 1200.00 and its yours..

Just a thought, maybe that is bracing for when they replace the stringers. I've heard if you don't brace the hull it can twist.
Other wise, I've never seen anything like that before. Billy-B may know.

That is an all wood boat. You are looking at the frames, battons, and keel which were made out of 3/4" solid wood. The plywood is screwed and glued to the frames. battons and keel. The engine stringers sit on top of the frames and are supported with wood braces attached to the frames. The inside wood was usually varnished, not resined, because you want the wood to breath. To maintain properly, the inside should be re-varnished every 5 years or so.

The "wooden one" found it's new owner this morning. Tom Bates from Kenwood, CA. drove to Boise and loaded her onto the back of his Ford F-150. Tom is a lifetime finish carpenter and is looking forward to the project. It was really cool to see this piece of our heritage go to somebody that knows what they are doing. He said he would keep me up on the progress so I could post pics here on the boards...I tried to talk him into a BIlly B. paint job but apparently he has had somebody else bid it for 800.00.....Spray on oh great one...RCL

Hey Mark, How's Dan and everybody. I've been hanging around the boat deal my whole life and two of my brothers and I all have v-drive rides. I own my own Late Model racing series and it is going into it's third season and My oldest boy is quite the driver as it turns out. You can click on the link in my signature and it will take you to our website. The new promoters at Madera spoke with me in Orlando and asked if I would come announce some events for the Supers at Madera. I said yes, so maybe I can see you guys this summer....Mike
