I'm building a motor for the first time since the end of the disco era (!!). I have always used Kopper Kote spray on my head gaskets.
For this engine I am using Fel-Pro performance gaskets with print-o-seal on them. This is new stuff, hmmmmmm.....
Should I use the Kopper Kote? I want to get a good seal, my old FE has the stock 11.6/1 pistons in it and it's going to squeeze pretty hard. Help me out, guys.....

The felpro gaskets are good stuff. I have used the copper coat before. It isn't needed if everything is straight and clean. It is good insurance though.

I've got a bbf 429 w/11-1 and i do use the fel pro.I do not use any copper cote i just clean the surface and torque down.As for marine gakets what is the difference that area is exposed to water whether a car or boat.

The marine gaskets use stainless steel

In the Fel pro catalog it says to not use sealer on their blue gaskets.

rrrr,
The situation here is for you to make sure everything is spotless, and no coating ios required. Trust FelPro. I haven't had any problems.
