Any of you had tranny issues? Mine just went out at 50K miles. Luckily it still has the extended coverage.

Mine is an 01 with 51K miles. I remember hearing that Ford had tranny issues a few years back. I thought I bought after they resolved them.
The mileage on my truck seems to small for it to go out. I change fluid regurily and it went bad from running real good to slipping gears.

So far so good. Still haven't gotten the wheels and tires that I ordered, instead running on their loaners. I'll throw some pics up when finally done...

I agree, seems way to low on mileage. I had a '94 until about 2000, ran like a champ but it was a straight 6.

Haven't done anything until I get my wheels. I have the all black FX4, so I left the stock grille in for now. Dunno if I'll do the Billet since the chrome front might look out of place...may even powdercoat it black if i hafta

My old 04 had a ton of trany problems, I was racing it in the desert, but Ford always took care of the tranies. All I really know is they sucked dick !!! Picture this second in class in a Vegas to Reno race and your brand new off-road programed factory Ford trany shits the bed with 112 miles to go.
Ford has made a ton of up grades in the trans since then and Isuggest you have them added in at the extra cost. Also see what shift inprover is avalable under warentee. They help reduce the shift lag and greatly improve trans life.

I am sorry it was a '98

I have a 97 Expedition...bsically the same thing, only heavier, and way softer shifting. 172K mi, and at about 168K the converter started acting up a little, so I had it serviced, and we added a friction modifier. No more trouble. I drive the piss out of this thing, I tow, I off road, and I drive a thousand mi. a week commuting at 75+mph, near three hours a day round trip. Hands down best vehicle I ever had.
