I think possible. When John built them I think they were just a tad quicker than the Stealth. I've had my Stealth bouncing 68-69 with 6 people, full tanks, ice chest and gear. This is with the 496 Mag. They lake tested my boat at 75 but that is with little fuel no gear and only Mike Harlan in the boat.

I wouldn't doubt it. From what I recall that's a stepped hull and the Stealth is not, therefore the difference in speed.

I think it has more to do with the Stealth being bigger and weighing more. The Stealth has a notched Delta pad which gives it the speed without the wacky handling characteristics of steps.

Thanks guys for the awesome replies. Sorry no pics of the significant. I barely have any of myself.. The guys at Genesis are Awesome Rudy, Joel Ishmael, Eddie, Jerry the whole lot of them. Made me feel glad I bought from them. Like part of the group instead of just a buyer. As far as the numbers I would like to see what the damn thing will do on GPS as well. Was out at Mojave and found the Sweet spot on the trim. Had the Kids 4 of them and me and the wife(And No still no pictures..lol) full load and was runnin it WOT hit 70 on the speedo(not GPS) but couldn't hold it there long Wife was yelling again. She says why ya need to go so fast? I got the 496 Ho and she got the upgraded stereo. Think I will keep the volume at half and ask her."Why ya need it so loud? The radio volume gets only as high as the throttle." Think that might work? :p

First of all I am by no means an expert, but I will say that we have the same motor, and we run a laved 24 pitch prop and we top out right around 70 trimmed up. Thats on a tattle tale GPS. I have never tried a 26, but dont think I have enough motor for it.
As far as the red line for your RPM's I dont have the exact number. When we bought our boat Kevin Cooper from Lavey Craft told me that 5150 was the maximimum. Hope that helps

If your going 70 mph and can still hear the stereo clearly, then you got one hell of an upgraded stereo!!!! :p
My wife has a standing rule of 50 mph when the kids are in the boat, your not alone. :(

Did you buy yours used? I don't think Lavey ever had that hull. In fact it is my understanding that Lavey grinds up their molds when they are done producing a boat.

Probably just kinda looks the same but if you look closely it's not. The 247 Mold was a DCB then Ultra bought it and now that Ultra designs all their own stuff they sold it off when they sold the Lightning Name and Genesis lays them up for themselves and for Lightning and it appears sometimes that people will slap Ultra stickers on their in a counterfit scheme. Lavey grinds up there molds so that there is no confusion or anything with any company building boats like their's.

John did sell the molds. It is just a branding issue. I don't know who did it but we just found a knockoff on here a couple of weeks ago. Ultra is a kick a$$ reputable company but John had to straighten a few things out since he bought it. Now all his boats are built and rigged at his factory in El Cajon and they are just awesome peeps. Unfortunately there are some non reputable people in this industry. But I don't want to hijack this thread. It is about this guys new Genesis and he is happy with it. I only brought up Ultra because I was trying to help validate his speed statements.
