Straight or diluted ?? Are you guessing or suggesting ??

Diluted. I know it will take it off. I don't personally use it for smell and wax-strippage properties, but I know several here and there that swear by it. A buddy does 1/3 to 2/3s water and sprays it on his gel every time for wipe down. Takes all calcium off.

I mix a little white vinegar into my washwater. It takes the mineral deposits off everywhere.
Beer-30's right about the wax thing, but the wax seems to be gone anyway, so another coat is always in order.
I also have a spray bottle mixed about 50/50 with distilled water and white vinegar that I keep with the boat, it works great on water spots and all the shiny stuff on the transom. :)

Viniger won't work as well as lime away.let it sit for a few seconds and then wip it off.Try it on the exhaust tips also.

What about Lime Away or CLR?
Too harsh! Maybe diluted also, at least for the gel. You won't catch me using that pipe cleaner on my gel. Hardware would be ok, though. Steering, etc.

What about Lime Away or CLR?
Too acidic. I've usd both, and they really make quick work of any deposits, but I find that it is very difficult to completely rinse away, and find little corrosion rings around exposed aluminum surfaces. Kind of like saltwater on steroids.
The white vinegar is very low acid, like 5% or so, anad when mixed with the distilled water will clean most deposits off quite easily and not leave any residue.

The trick with the vinegar is that the water you mix it with be the lake water that the boat is in. Works great on the gel. Then get yourself some of the waxing frenzy spray wax from Warlock25 and use that every 3 or 4 times out. I'd use the spray wax everytime but that would be too costly.

This stuff works just as well and is much cheaper. I use it every time on the truck and about every other time on the boat. $4.99 for a big bottle.
