Hey Chris..nice photos but you forgot to grab the throttles from Bobbit...I told you to mas those suckers. by the way we watched all you guys come in at Catalina...what a great sight and even better noise! Sweeper the 40 skater was second and not sure after that.

Yep!!!!......Those guys are insane..... :crossx:
They wear helmets every year.....and really need them....
Last year all 3 of them hit the dash of the boat numerous times......
I'm sure the helmets saved them again this year....
They were gone by the time we got to Avalon....
Wewere just trying to catch up to "Sweeper", the flat deck Skater....
Those guys were really fast too.....

i was on Jay's boat and was trying to push the gone again boat back, but no luck. Jay's boat is not too bad, but the 28 skater has some serious hull damage.
all was made good afterwards, the owner came over and took care of stuff
it was a fun day, we were 9th into the 1st stop, we ot stuck behind some boats and did not get out infront, so we were behind fromt he get go.
Jay did a great job of driving, he did and even better job drinking afterwards

INS, the boat ran great - ran better with Brian (from absolute) driving :eek:
Yes, Mimi went and loved it, even from the back seat without much to hold onto :2purples:
The conditions were good - my first time out in the salt so I have to believe others. Might check w/ Cola though. It was fun to have him along.
The smallest boat was a 24 HTM, a few 29's and 30's. but most were over 34
There is a short course - from LB to Newport and back = 50miles
Long course - LB to Avalon to Newport and back = about 100miles. Finished in under two hours.

I have to say the weather could not have been better. I've been to the last few poker runs in LB and it was overcast each time till you got to Catalina. This time was sunny and you could see for miles.

I've been out there in that washing machine stuff a few times...it's unpredictable. Alll of a sudden, there's a 6' hole in front of you ... :eek:
...or your props are out of the water from a swell that you couldn't see with all the mixed whitecaps covering it up. :supp:

I was lucky enough to score a seat for me and my dad on Jays boat for the run to Catalina on Friday and it was a ride I will never forget!(Thanks again Jay)
My dad was very thrilled that you gave him the opprotunity to drive a 42' Fountain with dual 1200hp motors and tought him the tricks of the trade when it came to step hulls.
I might have been lucky enough to snap a picture or two of Bobbit's Scater when we were coming back into the harbor at about 115mph but I will have to check......(Kinda hard to get things in frame when your holding on for your life :D )
I need to get back to work so I can afford a 500K+ boat!!

Peter is a very experiance driver...... He should consider another stint in the Offshore racing drivers seat...... after about 5 minutes we were already about 1 minute behind so I backed off.... How far behind him do you think we were 3 minutes or more......

Maybe the Goth Circus was in town ?????
They were checking into the hotel just in front of us.....
I was admiring the left arm tat's on both of them...

I don't know about the videos, but today I spoke to one of the guy's who took still's from a helicopter.......Erik Anderson.....

He was shooting 8 frames a second at 8 mega pixels....
He'll send you pic's on a CD for a few $$$$........
