Looks like he tried though. How many pet mice do you heard of that sacrificed their little mouse lives trying to fix a pool??? To me that's dedication over and above the call of pet mouse duty. :D :D :D

I have a Baracuda too -- they're not small, so judging from the size of that critter (plus looking at his fat tail and body) I think your mouse may actually be a rat. :)
