From a Jackson, MS, TV station helicopter. Good God!!
Go to the video playlist and select "Gulf Coast: Nothing Left". It shows all the casinos in Biloxi lifted up and over Hwy 90, some of them hundreds of yards from their moorings.

Wow. That first house they showed looked like a place I went for a wedding about 5 years ago. It was an old plantation house right down on the gulf. That's amazing. :( :( :(

Well, like my wife said to me when we watched this, Amazing and completely devistating. We had no idea that it was that bad. The tsunami is the only thing I can imagine would even come close to this.
We'll help however we can,, and pray.

The damage and debris is amazing to say the least. Not to mention the possibility of the amount of death.
I can't even imagine where they start. :frown:

Holy sh*t.
I have had a few meetings at the Broadwater which was the same as the President's Hotel and Casino. That casino is the one that was sitting on the Holiday Inn. That marina they showed (about 8 minutes 30 seconds into the video) had a lot of concrete structure to it. The casino was actually in front of the marina, so it would have excellent protection in every storm except for this one. Even the covering that was at that marina was concrete and everything to it is no more. The hotel seems to be there in the distance, but it was a full concrete building with glass front, and it must be gutted from the storm, just the shell left.
If you have never been there, that highway they are going along was estate after estate of beautiful, old, large homes. They are all gone. Everything is gone in that area as you can tell in those videos. The entire part of town that I knew of Biloxi is history. I basically know the area from where to President's casino was to where that casino that looked like a pirate ship was. There used to be a lot of development in that area that is now just nothing.
I can't believe how bad this is. When talking with the people at my events there, they all talked about how bad Hurricane Camille was and what it did to them and how it affected their lives. Camille was nothing like this storm, this has to be at least 5 times worse.

Everyone should see this link. This is by far the best coverage of the worst thing I have ever seen. There is over 1 hour of detailed video that you can't see on the big 3 news stations.

Hey thanks for the description bro. Watching it is one thing. Its hard to get a concept of what it like was before if you have never been there, like myself. But, putting yours words with the images really puts a WTF factor into it. Unreal.

I visited Gulfport/Biloxi years ago. The homes right on the border between the two were all Southern style mansions with beautiful trees.
It's a terrible tragedy. Just too much to comprehend.

I sat here and watched it with my wife and we were in disbelief. What you see and hear on the news just doesn't do this devastation justice. My prayers are with all of those people. How do you start to rebuild?

I hear the mainstream media is totally glossing over the stuff that might be too controversial to say- like all the welfare scum still there don't want to leave. Now that the man ain't there they are having fun...don't matter they are living in shit; they are pretty used to that...don't matter that he 42" big screen they just stole don't work from no power. They steal this stuff in their dreams when they go to bed at night.
I just wonder what's gonna happen once everybody gets out that wants to be out and only these thugs are the only ones left...
