Like anything I believe its taste. I have driven a flat and I own a runner bottom. I like them both. Mine is a little rough riding but the weight of an older boat makes up the difference.

For Flats I am going to have to say Biesmeyer.
For RunnerBottoms I would say Hondo, but Cole is definately right there.
