the nada book shows that boat at a low of $3,910 and a high of $4,710. from the pics i would say he is asking about twice what its worth.

look for boats meeting your size, price and year within whatever distance you choose from your zip code by searching boattrader (http://www.boattraderonline.com/advancedsearch.html)
Once you find a few you like, check the prices vs NADA (http://www.nadaguides.com/Values/ZipCode.asp?UserID=550938C595CC2&DID=38603&ColorId=&wSec=4&wPg=1102)
I wouldn't pay much, if any, over NADA or else you'll take a bath when you sell. Keep looking, there's tons of boats out there in that 19-22' range.

most boaters seem to think their boat is worth alot more then it really is. i have checked nada prices then called up on boats i saw in the boat trader to negotiate a better price. some will say no.. others will be more then happy to talk. :)
happy hunting.

Nothing wrong with Volvo Penta's :p Seriously, they are bulletproof. You will not be breaking that drive. Just last weekend I backed mine right into the ground while in reverse. The impact stopped the prop, shutting the motor down. I got out, shoved 'er off and was on my way. No problems at all. Try that with a merc....
Just make sure you get a small block V8 AT LEAST. Anything smaller will not be enough power. :p But you prolly know that....

I had a volvo once. avoid like the plague. The parts are expensive and hard to replace. Stick with mercruiser or an outboard :)

Hey Baker,
I'm not sure where you live but down here, Houston Tx area, there are boats everywhere. You can pick-em up cheap if you take your time and look. Last summer I bought a 84 Chris Craft with a 228 merc. The boat was in sad shape astectially. But, after some elbow grease and a good buff job, it looks nice.
Be cautious though. I had a soft spot in the floor and was gonna repair it last winter. The soft spot was like cancer, every peice of wood in the thing was rotten. Yes, even the transom. So, after about 6 mos of repairing, ofcourse it could have been done quicker but work and family keep me busy, it back pounding the water. I went to a man down here to get the supplies and ask for advice on how to repair. He walked me through the whole process. I asked him if this is usual. He said "I've been doing this for 30yrs, there aren't many boats out there that are over 15yrs old that aren't rotten, the owners just don't know it". The good thing is I have a nice boat, kinda unique, a little nastalgia, you don't see many of them. And with all the work I've put in it I still only have about 2500.00 in the boat. And I'll pull up beside any baja or donzi and mine will get more attention. Just my .02
