I'm eyeing the Sony 50 " LED TV's at COSTCO.
Is the entire screen LED,, or is it LED projection??
No mention on the SONY website, and of course no one to help you at COSTCO.
Thanks to anyone who is hep to this system and can share some info.

Most likely it's an LED projection TV with that big of a screen. I've got one and the picture is fantastic. You won't be disappointed if it's the Sony Wega. You should be able to pick up the 42" model for around $1500 and the 50" for around $2300. Good luck.

I would have to say that it sounds like you need a new flange

I think you are talking about LCD, it is really a rear projection LCD TV. It has 3 LCD panels (red, green, blue) and the TV uses a light bulb to project the image onto the screen.

The Sony LCD rear projection tv's work really well. They put out great picture in both standard and HD formats. This year Sony is adding SXRD technology ,from the Qualia , to a few tv's...
LCD : In short, the projector lamp -- an ultra high-pressure mercury lamp -- projects light through three different dichromic mirrors, which divide the light into RGB wavelengths. Each color passes through its own small LCD panel, creating an image for each color and resulting in a total of three color images. A prism recombines all three images back into one full color image, which is what you ultimately see on the viewing screen. The projector lens expands the image and enlarges details while creating clear, sharp images with superior color composition.
The new SXRD tv's improves on LCoS technology by employing an innovative production process using spacer-less technology to decrease the cell gap resulting in higher panel response time and crisp, smooth moving images.

I would still go with replacing the flange
