View Full Version : Bluewater 300. Who's got the sack to run?

Okay folks, a month from the date of the 300 and as of today it sounds like if we don't get more boats entered, the event is in jeopardy of being called off. If Hack Job is willing to enter his brand new 20' jetboat, surely some of you folks that are long in the tooth and short in the sack can nut up and enter your ride.
I don't care if it's a whacker, v'drive, I/O, fanboat, or whatever, just ante up and show up. Everyone always pisses and moans that racing is too expensive and there are no grass roots type deals to run. Well here's your opportunity.

I wouldnt go throught the hassle of trying to turn the Stoker into a "race" boat. I could just run it full interior with the ice chest loaded and hope all my competition breaks

I don't know about the loaded cooler action, but a brick stock full interior boat is more than welcome. All you'd really need to add is a kill switch if you don't have one already. From where I sit, even if you FINISHED the race with the least amount of laps completed, you'd still get more seat time actually driving your boat than most folks do all summer and probably have enough good stories to last you through winter ;)

Visit: http://www.boatracingfacts.com/foru...isplay.php?f=55 for a list of divisions (types of boats allowed) and information. For all those that want to race a "run what you brung" event now is your chance to be a part of history! The BWRC 300 Enduro is modeled after the original Parker Enduro where people came and raced what they had. There will be no capsule boats, F1 Tunnel boats, etc.
There will be $10,000 in prize money offered by the Bluewater (it is contingent upon selling out our 100-room block/night at the resort so MAKE YOUR RESERVATIONS TODAY! (Remember minimum 2-night stay).
For the Enduro:
Make your reservations at the BLUEWATER RESORT & CASINO (888) 243-3360:
Master group number is 1028QB with group name of 2005 BWRC Enduro. The room rate is $89 per night plus tax. The drop date is September 1, 2005. Any questions, please call Marlene James w/BLUEWATER RESORT at 888-243-3360 x 7037.
Next, I will be requesting some help from the masses to pull this off correctly. Please stay tuned for my updates and requests and let me know if you can help! First request: Patrol boat volunteers, I am looking for a minimum of 10 patrol boat volunteers to help towboats in that get stuck on the course. RPM will reimburse your gas expense but I am looking for volunteers to help out!
BWRC '300' Enduro Entry Blank:
Here is the link to the Entry Blank for the race: http://www.scscracing.com/form_05_apba_entry.pdf. Please note that it is in "writable adobe pdf format" so you can either fill it out online or just print it and then fill it out manually, sign it and mail it in with your check.

RPM RACING ENTERPRISES
1803 Morgan Lane
Redondo Beach, CA 90278
(Note: The Check must have your racing Division and boat # on it)
Now I am aware most of you have never filled one out before so here's some tips when you are filling out the entry blank:
Fill out all areas that apply that are yellow highlighted.
Under "Category" put "Spec. Event".
Under "Class" put your Division (1, 2, 3, 4, etc.).

Make sure it is signed by the driver(s) on the bottom and dated.
Any other questions please contact your Division rep.
BWRC 300 is ON:
I have been working round the clock and due to the hotel being very happy I will not cancel the event. I still need all pre-entries and I appreciate the option of helping out funding the event so I don't go negative. If we get enough entries (right now about 25, I need between 40-50) should be no problem. So the Race will go on as scheduled. Now I still am in need of patrol boats.
Anyone coming to the event to spectate and wish to get involved or if you just want to help out, please give me a call (562) 633-6200 or email me rossdbos26@yahoo.com
Thank you all and please continue pushing the entries!!!!
See you at the races!

Code Blue Racing is seeking sponsors for the Parker 300. So anyone that wants to get involved in the event is more than welcome.
Right now CBR has almost nothing to make the event, but we are working very hard and long to get everything ready for the event. We are shooting for a completion date of the 4th of Oct. which will give us plenty of time to test and make changes to the boat.
Code Blue Racing is very excited about the Parker Bluewater 300 Enduro. This event is a big step for boat racing and we are very excited to be part of it.
Our crew as of now is slim, so any help is a big plus right now.

I don't know how many beans somebody's been tellin you that that Sangers gonna have, but I know with the ponies in Hackers mill I could put on an extra 30lbs and we'd still have you guys covered from a HP/weight ratio. someone please tell me what GPS #s have to do with a marathon race?
We had the fastest ETII boat ever built (even to this day) in '89 and it didn't mean a thing. Stuffed it in the first turn and sank it at the enduro. Maybe we should have worried a little more about the driver and not so much about the top end numbers. lol. Actually, he was a great comp jet and K boat driver, he just got a little excited on that first lap.

I offered my help, whatever that might have been, to the team of Lloyd and Lloyd and was told by the older Lloyd that if I wanted to come, drink a few beers and hang out in the pits, that that'd be about the extent of the help they would need from me. Can't argue with that, they're smart boys, but I think I'll pass and just go watch the race.
I could enter the new boat though, with the speeds your running we'd stand a good chance to place fairly high in that class. Here's a recent picture of her, with me at the wheel. What do you think?

It's amazing what .140" front clearances will do to impeller efficiency  Bottom line is the flag drops and b.s. stops on the 8th. Unless you're borrowing Cyclone's motor or a stouter equivalent, you better lower your expectations for how fast your gonna spin a wheel that size. :D
Rich,
You know your welcome in our pit anytime. As far as the endurance aspect of this event, Ty and I are well aware of stamina being the #1 priority, but you can bet that any time we're commin up on that little Sanger there will be enough pedal left to get the job done ;) If you and Lori are planing on coming out for the event, let us know so we can make dinner plans.

We are headed to parker this weekend to test both boats. The rogers is set up more for river racing so we are making an impeller change along with a loader etc...

Tyson this is just estamated of the A3 impeller. On thursday of CBBB coming down river I turned 5300 @ 78.3 so we know that I should at least turn 5K with the A3, right ??? I forgot to mention there is a bunch of new parts thrown in on this new little 429. Now that I look at the chart I may see 5700rpms but the chip will be set at 5500rpms most of the race.

excellent!
Your boat was one of my favorites to watch at Long Beach a few weeks ago. Beautiful boat with a load of history. Is the driver from that race going to be one of your GN drivers at Parker?
What year is your friends Rogers?
Yea both of the drivers from Long Beach will be driving & I will make the 3rd. Grich starts the race, I will drive second leg & Phil Lukens is the clean up man! :eat:

I think the Rogers is a mid 80's lay up. It belonged to one of havasu 47's customers (B&D Marine) He used to run a twin turboed 5 something in it. The boat went up for sale less motor & my friend jumped on it! It is Black, White, Burgundy, & Grey. Absoulutly beautiful boat! With a simple 468 chevy & 2 carbs it runs just a hair over 90... You will really like it! He wants to build a crower injected 500 incher like the gn boat has later... :)

Could be one that was built when I was there, '80-'85. The only black Rogers I remember doing there was for a guy with one leg that was a speed skier. We built that boat so he could set the world record at 100 mph and change(with one leg), he did it too. That boat flat hauled. Don't know if it's the same boat, but it'd be kinda cool if it was.

I believe his name was Art! Very nice gentleman with a buisness in Irwindale! He owns an offshore boat, & some sort of a blown v-drive. This boat used to spend a lot of time at needles in the 90's. It was definitly a wicked piece with the race areo twin turbo deal. It was a killer deal for my friend...

C'mon, with the rate the jetboats burn fuel you should at least revise that to say the 2nd pit stop :D
Anywhooo, we'll be there, no oil in our gas, no blender on the back and probably nowhere near the front of the line come lap countin time at the end, but we'll be there. So am I hearing that the afterparty will be at Foxes?
And another thought just occured to me. How come I haven't heard a peep from good ol' Riverdave about coming out to check out the action. If I'm going to step foot in Parker it almost doesn't seem right not to swing by Casa de Johnson. Davey, if you're reading this, are you gonna be out there the weekend of the race?

Chris,
RD is in Vegas all week. Your best bet would be to call him. Oh, and just for clarification, you guys are my odds on favorite in the Ford powered jet class. Make no mistake, the anti-Ford, anti-jet comments are all directed at Code Blue and their merry band of lolly gaggers. :D :D :D

p.s. There is no oil in my gas either, at least not in the tank. It mixes automatically at the last minute. ;) :D

Tyson,
Post count does not get you past a 20' Southwind Dana or will even help you finish, money and suport will do that only. We are still working very hard to put this whole deal together inshort order. As you know I am building new power and putting a crew together at the last min. The only way this will happen is if I keep pushing. I am very thankfull for the help I am getting from all my sponsors. We are still 6 people short of a full crew. Well yes some of the sponsors are donating product, some products are on loan from sponsors. If our sponsors were footing the bill for the new powerplant we would be looking for much more, say $13K - $18K. I don't understand you with the negitive attitude but we will all see on the 8th. We plan on completing the entire race and just want to run competitively. But most of all have fun !!!

How about everybody giving Ross & RPM racing a huge thank you for giving us this opertunity to race the coolest race ever! The race is the gravy to all the hard work & stress that it takes to put one of these gigs on. I don't think people really think all that much about the events leading up to the race, but they should! Ross you are commited to doing this again next year, so just know that! ;) I will try to provide more help for this comming year than previously. I think with more time to plan & the results of this year, next year will be epic!

Way to go Ross, the event was a great success, next year it will be huge. I liked the atmosphere this year, all the people were great. I anticipate the number of boats next year will be significantly greater perhaps there could be a "Jet" catagory ?

Thanks again on a difficult job well done

give him time to heal Ben. It will take time for UT to get over the fact that the top 3 were all inboards. No matter how ya stack it the inboards were kings.
The 1st place boat was an old wood deck Rayson. What year is that thing anyway? 1959 maybe?
2nd was a f'in FLATBOTTOM of all things. And now we know they can run in the slop and go the distance. I ran beside him for 3 laps and all I can say is Larry can drive that thing.
3rd was the last boat off the beach! 21' schiada
4th was the Shocker guys, the best of the wackers. Not knocking them at all as they were the first all rookie team to finish! And not just finish but also bag a class win. Bad Ass!
I thought UT and crew was going to show up with the Barney craft? Guess not. Maybe they will come out next year. Shocker has set the bar for the wackers. Can UT come out next year and one up them? I donno but hope he tries.

I heard that UT guys boat only runs the 1/8th mile?
But only from 35mph-75mph, in mild chop, with 70* water temps and only a maximum of 10 people on the beach watching.

Well SD, don't blame me because the wackers did not beat the car motor guys, thats not my problem.
Maybe some serious wackers will run next year.
Barney did not want to run this year and since it's his boat.............

I think some of the wakkers were running F1 motors...
the rule was the prop shaft had to be 2" below the bottom of the boat.. Slowed us down a lot.
But would love to see you make it out to the next one and represent.. :eat:

Max,
The Mirage could be a little lite for and enduro, maybe not I don't know.
I have a little heavier Mirage (not rigged) that would work but I'm thinking about selling it ( no room to store 2 boats)
Or maybe I'm just paying you back because you have not showed up to any BBSP's.

I have an F1 set-up on my Mirage. There are things you can do with the prop shaft 2" below to get the boat to run fair but not as good as the correct setting.

OK guys and gals. Code Blue Racing will be fielding a boat in the Bluewater Thanksgiving Day Regatta. Not sure at this time who will be piloting the Sanger for the race. Chances are that I will not be cleared to drive by then due to my current health problems. But to help this sport grow I will be fielding our boat.
We Code Blue Racing are looking for a Primary Sponsor for the Race !!!
Thank you and please feel free to to offer your help !!!
Jim
CBR is hoping to make it. I never knew how outragious Dr.s are, price wise. This little deal has taken a major toll on our finances. But being that the Thanksgiving Regatta is the first points race for 2006 SCSC racing season we need to be there.
I am taking volenteers for a team that is will to be at every race as part of the CBR team. Any of the Parker 300 crew are welcome to join us.
We are also looking for sponsors for the entire season or on a race by race deal too.
Thank you
Jim
