My dad finally got his motor in his Biesemeyer last night, and we made the first few runs down the local river.
Blown 468 full roller, alum heads etc.
We didnt want to beat on the fresh motor but ran it easy for a few expensive hours on race gas.
We opened it up a little more but no where near wot and i was watching how the boat rode in the water.
Its a steele marine biesemeyer flat which the motor needs moved forward a great deal. The guy that had it used it as a lake boat and for some reason had the motor way back.
Do these B-Boats carry the nose high? It seemed to run a tad bit flat, or does the boat have to be at alot higher speeds to see the effects of the handle pedal??
If i take some digital pics can someone post them. Im sure it will upset some folks on here being that the guy we got it from has had interior made for it!!
I dont agree with it, but it looks nice and its no race boat.
Ill get some pics tonite

You can't get much if any info from 50. Drive it over and see what it does.

Yeah thats what i figured, we just wanted to take it easy and get the motor broken in nice and easy. I hate seeing a fresh motor run at WOT the first outing. Im going to video tape the way it rides and analyze it this next outting when we kick it down.

Holy crap, that motor is way too far back. With that kind of power I have hear 36" from the transom atleast. That thing is setup for skiing.
BTW: That looks like the same hull as mine "ski deck". I want that Biesmeyer badge. :D

Its a shame the man who owned it before us rerigged it and thought it was something special. Over the winter that interior needs to go and that motor moved way up. It will be fine for the rest of the season though. Cant wait for next year

HaHa Thats the top cap off the MSD distributor on the seat. Did steele marine have race boats? Are they still around. I have to get the original paperwork out and research them. While its apart interior is getting removed and a shorter driveshaft, just have to repostion the motor on the rails 36" from transom.
We had it back out last night and theres a bad vibration under power. Now the prop shaft is out, drive shaft, and flywheel all going to get checked tomorrow. It sat and would idle nicely and rev it a little on the trailer and it seemed fine but i heard an odd noise and looked back and the header bolts on one side vibrated out and was letting exhaust out. The coil was in tight as i could get it, and it was hanging everytime i turned around, I shut it down asap, and now its apart.
One thing after another haha

The man who had it got it in unmolested condition and began his own recreation. The strut and everything was never moved or repositioned from steele.

Yes Steele made race boats but he's not in business anymore!.. If all the hardware is in the right place, the motor is 34" from the transom to the block!.. Sounds like there's a balance problem in the motor???..
