Ever seen the spray a surface piercing drive sends out?..
They must have a method to flatten that plate out when the drive is down to knock the spray down (assumably for skiing behind it...)
Saw a 38' Formula (Blown Away) with Arneson drives at the Catalina Race last year with a sim setup...

It's hinged at the end of the Blackhawk drive cav plate. Flop it down flat, lose the prop spray... I promise. :D

What kind of boat is that? Ever notice you never see setups like that out here? (Not sure where it's from.. but whens the last time you've seen a blackhawk on the river? Arneson etc..)

When was the last time you saw a Blackhawk drive with twin, counter rotating surface piercing props and an anti-rooster plate? Not to mention the mufflers. Is that the new drive setup on Bubbles????

The boat is a V-trap. When I was at Al& Eds we started doing work for them. The boats are very interesting and they are made locally (909). The owners of the company are big into ski racing. and that thing on the back is to knock down the roost form the props. From what Im told the boats are very fast on very little power. Never had the chance to ride in one yet.

Trolling plate so you can fish without spending the dough on a trolling motor and battery. It just blocks most of the thrust from the prop.
