"buyer responsible for pick up (near reno nv)"
Well, Morg...Fiat? Do you know who's boat this is?
It's hard to see in the pics, but it looks like the rear seats put the motor pretty far back in the boat. Need to see a pic of it making a pass...ah, what the hell, I'm high bidder. :D

Hard to find Hull. I have a 76 and they ride so nice, the ones who have ridden in mine cant believe how smooth. I have a MILD tunnel rammed BBC and do 95-97 MPH all day. working now to break the century mark.

whats your high bidd so i can make one that will be just under yours, i've never thought of sport bidding, 1 low bid under reserve and i could tell the wife im bidding on the boat and it will flip her out ! ! ! ! I mean surely a bid under 5000 wouldnt even meet the reserve and would be fun(nny)

Dont do it. I ended up winning a bid on a Sanger that way.

LOL!
This boat has "Buy It Now" for like $10,500 and current bid was at $1500 at the time I bid...reserve not met, so I don't think I had anything to worry about. Also, my max bid was $2788.69 and I would have GLADLY paid that much for the boat (and yes, Floored, I'd sell the engine and ultimately end up with a free Brendella :D ).
By the way, Towndrunk: never sport bid more than you can afford OR anywhere near the value of the item, 'cause a bid is supposed to be a binding pledge to buy the item. But you figured that out the hard way with the Sanger, didn't you? My absolute MAX sport bids are based on my estimated salvage value of the item.

Okay DD, here's the deal. Based on some very strategic bidding on my part, I was able to reveal the current high bidders max bid, which is $3500. So, since this is much less than I would pay for that boat, I'll go ahead and outbid him...I'll enter a max bid of $3988.27.
So go get your wife in front of the computer and tell your you're going to bid...and then just bid $3900. heh-heh. :D

At what point do these style runners become dangerous.... :jawdrop: I have a 3/8 dimarrco and it rips...but I could see how a 2 inch would haul ass!! How much faster are they and sre they safe ...

Tom Label at Auto Marine Engineering raced one in the 80's. From what I saw, I'd say they are good up to 125 mph when the amount of air going under the boat becomes more that the system can handle on deceleration, causing the boat to become unstable and crash into little peices no bigger than a square foot. Just my 2 cents from what I saw.

I ran my Howard to 116 with no problems. But I do have to admit, that it never felt as solid as the Canyon I now have!
Engine and v-drive placement will be critical for a good ride. Mine was f'ed up enough in both cases to run well :D
