View Full Version : Now that summer is wrapping up, how many hours did you put on your boat???

I picked mine up after Memorial day and was out pretty much every Saturday and Sunday with the exception of the weekend after Catalina Ski Race (2 straight weekends on the ocean with 4th of July) and a couple weekends in the shop.
So far I've put better than 50 hours on the engines and I'm sure there will be another 15 or so before things are all said and done this season. To me that's a great summer. What did everyone else rack up??? :D

Not near enough... Another almost no-boating year like this one and I'll prolly sell it... Your boat looked good in the big blue Catalina weekend though... :D

So that's not bad. What is that? one hour for each day of summer you have up there? :D
My answer is . . . not enough.

58 or so hours,
But damn the channel to moabi only takes 12 or so mintues,
on not so busy weekends and 10 on not regular weekends.
Thats why only 58 hours..........since feb...

about 30 minutes. in the water an hour and a half. Travel time to sugaro about 50 miles round trip. 2 sets of bearing buddies, gone. To discover the brake rebuild has hub/rotor issues and the company that the parts were purchased from in Slidel LA.
Oh and the trip to Saguaro, time in water discovered bellows leak that needs replaced before hitting the water again.

I think about 20 hours on our '04 Chaparral 256, a big bowrider. So far this year I haven't done much with our Howard flattie, mebbe 2 hours,
Fonda has taken her jet boat out a couple of times, perhaps another 4 hours.
Uh, what this means is we leave the ramp, park, and party...... :D :D

On the old Baja ski boat 102 hours. On the Hondo 18 hours. Thats a pretty good summer. But we start just cruising around when the temp hits 65 sometime in March and will keep going until sometime in November.

Kind of an off year for us 10Hrs = Way to many projects at home, and to much work during the summer. I got 10 days coming up in Parker, so maybe 20 Hrs when I get done. :)

So far about 15 on the Lavey, 20 on the Polaris, and about 30min (running at the dock only) on the Gibson Houseboat. The houseboat hasn't left the dock for 13 months. I know I have to go run the 2 year old gas out of it before putting fresh in this fall but it's so boring to drive.

Usually about 50. This year 20. :( Because I'm not out chasing butt all the time, because I'm a family man, I had trouble finding people to go.
Not too many people want to hang on the river, ski, and drink beer.

Maybe 2 hours on mine this year, I was pushing it to get ready for Freeboard challenged and Missed it, then went on the water that weekend and lost a lifter. Turned out the lifter roller bearings took out everything else. I decided that I would punish the boat by making it sit out for the season. So there I showed it. Now I am making it go in the salt water to further punish it for breaking. :hammer2:

about 8 hours so far, only 4 times up to the lake. My season started in august, but hey I have at least 25 hours working on it this year so far.
I thought I was the only person on the boards that did not put many hours on this summer. Glad I am not alone here!

160 hrs. last year, 20 this year. First big trip it was 125 degrees, & that took all the wind out of my sails. Next trip, 1 month later, we had 11 twenty something kids, non-stop smoking & drinking, they had lots of $$ for cigarettes & beer, but no money for food & gas. Two bad trips made me want to stay home and surf. (by myself) Then I come out this weekend & find my Seadoo’s have been stolen. Yep I’m over it. got me thinking of getting out. might turn this place into a rental.

About 15, we usually bee line it straight from 10 lane to Humbug, don't cruise it much...maybe to the marina for dinner, the most driving we do is at Apache lake because it's about 10 miles from the campsite to Party Cove.
