I must have called 15-20 different contractors and MOST of them are complete flakes. I found a guy here local in the IE that does killer work for great prices. I would definitely give him a call. His name is Sam with Inland Construction 951-217-7989 cell or 951-789-1690 office. My bro just had his backyard done by Sam as well and his turned out really nice. Sam is the only guy that took the time to sit down with my girlfriend and I and draw out a sketch of what he thought would look good in my yard. He has some awesome ideas and really helped us out a lot with the design. If you want more info about my experience give me a call (714) 746-4496 or PM me.
They are pouring mine as I type. When its done I will post more pics.

From the looks of those conduit stubs I'd say you have some nice future built-in BBQ plans too... :D

Which one did you get? We've been looking at the one's built by Islander versus building one in place permanently out back. The pre-fab island guys sure have them down now. They are sooo nice. In the meantime I have the kid's picnic table set up over our stubs. :D

Looks like a hellova project. Looking good. I'm gonna need a long driveway put in soon, and just might have to do a half court, too. Hope these guys' work turns out well for you. :D

Hope you've got a herd of 4" perimeter drains going in. No gutters on the house and the next big rains with all that nice decking = mucho runoff... Looks like you found yourself some good finishers. :D

Sounds like a winner. Tough to find dependable contractors who can keep a schedule, anymore. Now, this guy will probably get more bus.

They sloped the slab away from the house and we put in (6) 4" drains as well. This last year with the horrible rains we had probably 10-12" of standing water in the back yard so this was to prevent that again. It was so bad that we had to set up siphon hoses to the street to suck the water out because it was so flooded.

Good man. I'm used to seeing those white 4" pipes sticking up out of the ground, so that's why I asked. Nice sized lot and all that decking without drains is big water trouble... :)

Yeah tell me about it! I've been trying to get this project going for about 3-4 months now and honestly just had crappy luck finding a good contractor.
Sam is a great guy and I think my brother will attest to this as well that I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a good concrete guy.

Thanks! You have no idea how excited we are to finally get this done. I'm not even joking when I say we have really been actively trying to find someone good for 3-4 months atleast. Can't wait for it to be done.
I haven't heard what the final count was yet but we estimated it at about 35 yards.

Looks good. I like to see a an inch or two of clearance below the weep screed like they have done. Too many guys will pour up to it... (Bad)
Is the slope on the section in this pic away from the foundation? It looks a little negative in this pic.....

I can definitely qualify what Dan has said regarding Sam @ Inland Construction (btw...he is a fellow boater and dirt biker as well). So far nothing but great quality work and service...would recommend to anyone looking for this type of work. Feel free to contact me if anyone is interested in checking out his work.

I haven't checked it for myself yet because its still so new but its supposed to be a positive slope to the drains.

This pic is definitely deceiving....checked it last night and it is slightly positive like its supposed to be.

That's good news then. Its bad to have any water pond or pool up against the foundation...looks like they are on the ball over there.
The concrete looks so good, now you are going to have to paint the house... :notam: It never stops!!!

This is the perfect statement.....next step is windows and then patio cover and exterior paint. Then all I have left is the bathrooms and its done. HA HA ya right we all know that will never be the case.

Thanks again! I can't wait for it to be done. Don't forget to write down Sam's # for when you are ready to do your backyard.
