Looking for some 15/39/16.5 something not too aggressive but more "last long" on the streets.

Not sure if TOYO makes a 16.5 tire that tall, but their all terrain tires balance up really well and I got 45K out of my last set...

Nope. Nitrogen is for those pilot types. I did have six or seven flat repairs and a couple bad sidewall cuts tho. Does that count? :D

45k is insane. I will have to check and see if they have them.
I got a quote for $1475 mounted, balanced, tax out the door.
TSJ or TSI Super Swampers? something like that.

:2purples: :2purples: :2purples: Swampers? Noooo! There is a reason the only trucks you see with Swampers running those beefy cleats are at the tire shop! Every other truck on the road - they are bald. I think those get maybe 20ishK and they are done. Soft, NOISY tires...

Do NOT do the TSL swampers. They are LOUD and you will eat them up Quick!
I ended up putting Mickey Thompsons on my Big truck and they were not that bad as far as noise. I dont know how they did as far as mileage goes because I sold the truck. Im currently running Pro Comp Xterrain tires and I have had good luck with them so far.

I got about 33K out of my X's (35 x 12.5 x 17's) on my last truck. Directional tire so you're limited on rotation (only F-R). I liked em, but IMO the sidewalls cut way to easy (I work out in the dirt). Hard to pass up that buy 3 get 1 free thing at 4WP's tho... :)

Those are some REAL spendy tires. Usually only see those on race cars and high end prerunners. You must have a great BFG hookup to run them on the street.

The offroad tire stuff is pretty new to me. I am used to 17-18" low profile stuff.
Right now it has some MickeyThompsonBaja that are LOUD AS HELL!
The quieter the better and also last long on the street, cause this truck only sees some dirt in a launch ramp parking lot. :)

TSL Super Swampers Radial 39.5/15/16.5 $1475.00 out the door.
The tire guy told me when it comes to a 40" tire you will not find one that lasts longer than 18-20k, or be quiet, they are just too big.

Those guys did my Gaylord/bedrug install a little while back. Great people with good service. Doesn't hurt they are like, what 20' away from Dana? I be you guys spiff him to take extra time on some of those baller trucks just so you can get the owners over to your place?.. :D :D :D

I have almost 20K on my Toyo's and there only about 50% worn. not too bad with the noise either.

Which size are you running WYRD? I'm a fan of Toyo's product. All I've bought so far are holding up really well. Heck, Steinberger is running them on Trophy Truck #7 and they seem to be working pretty well on that monster...

I don't work for Dana. I just stumble over to AH "from" Dana. Steve (the owner) is a friend and gets a lot of business from Dana owners. He has also sold some boats for Dana... no spiffin' needed.

Sandbar Mike,, Call me at the shop 559-291-9222 when i check last week i could get some..
Don, In a 40 your not gonna have many choices. Most people go for the look in that size tire over performance simple because most tires that large are noisey and aren't going to last to long no matter what.
Nitto and toyo have the best tires out in the larger sizes. unfortunatly your gonna have to step down to a 38 or up to a 40" with 22" wheels on the mudgrappler and i think down to a 38 on the toyo.
We can get xterrains but i have not been extremely happy with there performance and alot of people have had belting issues with those tires.
Swamper is probably gonna be your best bet.. We run the truxus tires which they are now making a radial 40. We have had good luck with them yes there noisy but it's a 4x4 it's supposed to be.. but on the freeway at speed wtih the windows up you can't here them so it doesn't bother me.
Didn't you win a gift cert from us at CBBB? call me up i'll set you up. Here is a pic of our tahoe with 40" truxus

I run 39.5's on my Excursion, and was getting jack shit for mileage out of TSL's. Switched to the new IROK radials from Interco and they have been great..

Look into Parnelli Jones Dirt Grips.I think they are making a 40" tire right now.Stay away from TSL Super swampers if youre looking for tread life.TSLs are mainly for off road use.
Also look into a Goodyear MTR.I know they make it in a 40" tire also.Ive got 40K plus on both tires. Our Excursion has 45K on the tires and they have another 5-10K left.
If you want more look and could care less about performance and road noise, look at a Denman Ground Hawg.Only drawback is that they only carry 16.5.
As everyone is saying,Toyo mudd grapplers are the tire for you...If not go with the Truxxus tires.
