Gibson mufflers - cleaning? My buddy just got his 23' Dana which has the Gibson mufflers on it. They are turning a milky white and he has tried everything, chrome polish, vinegar, wax, etc. Nothing seems to be able to get them shiny like they were.
Anybody know any tricks? I don't have mufflers so I'm not sure what to tell him myself. He's tried everything I would have.

I use lime away on my drive and stainless hardware. Brings the shine back like new

CLR you can buy it at the grocery store where the bathroom cleaning supplies are. I use it on my Gibsons and my prop, works great!

Cool ... did your Gibsons ever start to get a milky shade to them ... or were you always able to keep them nice and shiny? Thanks for the suggestion!

All stainless mufflers start doing that. CLR works really well. Keep them wiped off after every stop and they'll be fine.

Maybe after using CLR?? When new, after the first hour in the water they couldn't be wiped off. The haze was immediate.

I have the same problem with my S/S tips.... It's hard water stains. I use a metel pollish at the end of the day to bring the shine back. Usually it's a one beer dealio.
