91 502

i have a 91 502 runs great startes great but when i get to about 4200rpm it goes for about 30 sec and then acts like its runnuing out of gas. it only has a 650 on with ele fuel pump do i need more carb. im plan on an 850 is this to much and is it the possible problem.

I had a problem similar to that. Turned out the carb had some blockage...the secondary bowl was actually running out of gas...

HH-How did you clean it out?

Is it a Holley per chance? If so, check to see if it has the bronze fuel filters in the bowl inlets. If so, loose 'em and use an inline filter.

Pulled the bowls apart and dipped em...the carb really should have gotten a rebuild, but it fixed the problem.

i have a 91 502. before i put a procharger on it i ran an 850 holley and it ran great. not so great now, but that is another issue. good luck
