Coast Guard Approved Class

Looking for a classroom setting - Coast Guard Approved - Safe Boating class in the LA area. Anybody ever done these classes. I was hoping West Marine in Long Beach would have something but I was unable to get any info from them.

The one I took in '99 was held at AAA headquarters on Figueroa (sp?) near USC. It was put on by the CG Auxilary.

call 1-800-seaskil which is the United States Power Squadron. They have calsses all over Los Angeles and around the country. same information as the coast guard but without being run by the government
